Categories & Criteria
The University of Tasmania Athletics Club recognises past and present members who have represented Australia at the highest level of international competition, as athletes, coaches and appointed officials.
In recognition of their achievements, members who have met the criteria set out below will be included in the University of Tasmania Athletics Club Hall of Fame. Members will be listed on the Club’s Honour Roll, which is published on the Club’s website and in all publications. Hall of fame members will receive a trophy acknowledging their inclusion, this will be presented at a suitable occasion following ratification.
1 CATEGORIES
There are four categories for induction:
- Athlete- Athletes who were members of the Club at the time of representing Australia in athletics at any event listed in item 2.1
- Coach– Coaches registered with the club who have coached athletes to represent Australia at one of the events shown in Items 2.2
- Official– Officials registered with the club who have been appointed for events listed in item 2.3
2 ELIGIBILITY FOR EACH CATEGORY
2.1 Athlete
a Athletes who have achieved the qualifying standard required for one of the following;
- Olympic Games & Paralympic Games
- World Athletics Championship – Open & Under 20
- World Para Athletics Championships – Open & Under 20
- World Athletics Cross Country Championships – Open & Under 20
- World Athletics Indoor Championships
- Commonwealth Games
- World University Games
b Athletes who have won a World Masters Athletics Championship event in any age group
2.2 Coach
Coaches who have coached an athlete to represent Australia at one of the following;
- Olympic Games & Paralympic Games
- World Athletics Championship – Open & Under 20
- World Para Athletics Championships – Open & Under 20
- World Athletics Cross Country Championships – Open & Under 20
- World Athletics Indoor Championships
- Commonwealth Games
- World University Games
2.3 Officials
Officials who have been appointed to Officiate at one of the following events;
- Olympic Games & Paralympic Games
- World Athletics Championship – Open & Under 20
- World Para Athletics Championships – Open & Under 20
- World Athletics Indoor Championships
- Commonwealth Games
- World University Games
3 Right to Withdraw
The Board of Directors of the University of Tasmania Athletics Club reserves the right to remove Hall of Fame membership from any inductee who has, in the opinion of the Board, undertaken actions that are either inappropriate or have brought into any doubt the inductee’s adherence to the values and philosophy of the Club.
4 Nominations
There is no nomination process for the Hall of Fame. Members who have met the criteria set out in items 2.1, 2.2 & 2.3 will be automatically recognised as Hall of Fame members.
