RESULTS for the Tasmanian Combined Events & 10000m Championships are now available.
Geoff Gibbons took out the Men’s Open Combined event, Andrew Bonsey victorious in the Masters M40 event, talented junior Amy Wiggins finishing third in the U18 event. The athletes dealt with some challenging conditions across the two days of competition, with strong winds hindering performances on day 1, before the heat took over on the second day.
The club was well represented in the 10000m Champs, with Nick Earl, Thomas Murton and Pat Smith lining up on the start line. Pat Smith, kitted out in the new UTAS comp gear had pacing duties on the day, though he looked strong enough at the 5km mark to give those watching a sense he was there to race. Master of the Marathon Nick Earl proved too strong for talented Newstead youngster Sam Clifford, with Tom Murton finishing fourth.
