Emily Canham has broken the Tasmanian Open Javelin Record, throwing a huge 42.98m at the Athletics South Reunion Day meet in Hobart today.
Emily recorded the throw in R5 after a solid battle with teammate Agnes Sakina in the earlier rounds of the featured McDonald Family Javelin. Today’s result is also a new U20 Tasmanian Record – with just 6 days to spare! Congratulations to both Emily and super Coach Evan Peacock on a super result.
Hamish Peacock made it a UTAS double of the feature throws, taking out the McDonald Family Discus with 47.28m. Our thanks to Peter & Maureen McDonald for their ongoing support of these events, and to all those who contributed to a great day of athletics in Hobart.
