Hamish Opens His Season In Style

Hamish Peacock opened his season in style, taking out the Men’s Javelin at the Jandakot Airport Perth Track Classic.

Hamish recorded a best of 78.43m to finish ahead of Cameron McEntyre (NSW 75.42m) with WA local Luke Cann third. The next major meet for Hamish will be the Sir Graeme Douglas International Continental Tour Meet in New Zealand on the 23rd February then returning home for the Tasmanian Championships on the 28-29 February where he will be chasing his 15th State title.

Hamish was joined in Perth by fellow Tasmanian’s Jack Hale, Jacob Despard & Brandon Clark. Jack Hale (NS) lit up the track in his prelim of the 100m, setting a new Tasmanian record of 10.12 before going on to finish 2nd in the final in a wind assisted 10.10 (2.2), with Jacob Despard (OVA) 12th in 10.78. Brandon Clark (NS) performed well to finish 5th in the Men’s Long Jump with a best of 7.27m.
